Network Marketing – Cold Messaging.
What not to do in network marketing:
As you know cold messaging is a big no-no these days. That’s when you ask someone on social media to join your team, buy your products, or join a challenge you have going on. You basically have no relationship with the person and expect them to be your business partner or customer.
What TO do in network marketing:
If you see someone that you think would love your products or would be a perfect fit for your team, get to know them first. Chances are, you don’t fully know them to actually see if they really could benefit from what you have to offer. This business is about relationships, grow an online relationship first before you ever mention your products. This takes TIME and patience and consistency. That way when you do post or go live, they will be more interested in listening to what you have to say!
Network Marketing – Posting on social media.
What not to do on social media:
When you make posts try to stay away from your company stock photos, any sales pictures or join my team ads. These are not attractive and people have become immune to them. Another type of post that people are immune to now are work from home posts. These are the posts where you take a picture of your computer and your kids next to you and say something along the lines of “if you want to work like this, join my team.” or “I’m so glad this is my office view now.” If you just hit your palm to forehead, don’t worry……. I did it too!
What to do on social media:
Instead of those posts, take your own photos or go LIVE with your products (sign up here to master LIVE video)! Take a picture of you with your products and tell the soon-to-be customer how it will help them. Tell them what problem you can solve. Use different pictures and post stories about you and your life. Bring your network on a journey of what its like to do what you do. People are moved by emotion so they will remember the way you make them feel. So tell your story! Draw them into your life so they follow you. You want them to look forward to what you have to say and seeing your posts. Tie that in with a few product posts that you took. Before and afters are always great. Or show how your new company has changed your life!
TIP: There are 4 different types of people and 5 different types of posts that you can make. For more help on this, I created this free download. In this download, I tell you what they are, and give you ways to write the posts.
Last thoughts about what to do and not do in network marketing?
What it comes down to it is, when you go to post try to share how you can help your network not what you want them to buy. Build a relationship and get to know your soon to be customer or teammate. You don’t just want anyone to join your team or be a customer some people may not be a good fit.
Also, it takes TIME! No business is a get rich quick business. It takes time and work. You have to be able to be patient and consistent with your posting.
A story that I share with my team is:
Everyday Bob goes to the gym on his way home from work. When he leaves the gym on his route home there is a billboard for a new pizza place that just opened and he has been dying to try. That particular day, he had a meeting to go to and wasn’t able to stop. So the next day he sees the billboard and he was so hungry, he was ready to stop but realized he had forgotten his wallet. The third day on his way home from the gym he was on the phone and didn’t even see the billboard, so he didn’t even think about it. The fourth day, he was so hungry and definitely going to stop. However, he completely missed the exit and traffic was crazy so he didn’t turn around. The fifth day, he sees the billboard again and he was starving! He didn’t have any plans. He had his wallet and he made sure that he was going to stop and try the place on his way home.
So you see, it took him 5+ times to see that billboard before he actually bought. This is what you need to think of when being patient with your soon to be customers. It will happen I promise. If you stay in front of your network the right way, when they are ready they will be coming to YOU!
